A family in Oregon City is safe after managing to escape a fire at their home early Thursday morning, Clackamas Fire District 1 said. There were no injuries.
Crews responded to 20105 South Southend Road just after 1 a.m.. Homeowners had awoke to a noise in their home, which turned out to be a fire. They called 911 and left the home.
Firefighters discovered heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the home.

They were able to quickly knock down much of the fire but discovered the flames had reached the attic. Firefighters had to pull down the ceiling to get the rest of the fire out.
