The Oregon City Library Could Use Your Help

The foundation that helps the library is trying to meet a $25,000 challenge grant to help pay for expansion and renovation.

As the Oregon City Library gets ready to re-open next week, the foundation that supports it is looking to raise money to get a matching grant.

The Collins Foundation will match the first $100 of each donation of $100 or more, up to $25,000.

That means if the Oregon City Library Foundation can raise $25,000 in donations of $100 or more they will receive another $25,000.

That's another $25,000 for expansion and renovation.

And, besides the feeling of satisfaction of having given to a good cause, the foundation offers a few concrete ego enhancements to those giving $100 or more.

"You will be recognized with the name of your choice in the new library," the foundation says on their website. "For $100, it will be displayed on a replica of a historic card catalog drawer front in the original Carnegie space. For $1,000, a larger recognition sign will be placed on the end of a stack.
