Oregon City Police Dog Helps Capture Accused Robber

Jacob Moses allegedly stole two money bags from the Highland Stillhouse.

A 26-year-old man is under arrest, charged with robbery after police say he stole two bags of money from the Highland Stillhouse in Oregon City. Police say that Jacob Ryan was caught by Spencer, a K9 Officer from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Officers had responded to the Stillhouse just before 10 on Friday morning.

A man, later identified as Moses, had stolen the two bags but was seen by two employees who tried to stop him. Moses was able to run free and made it to a nearby car that was waiting for him.

A citizen saw what happening and blocked the car from leaving.

A Stillhouse employee tackled Moses as he got out of the car, trying to take the money with him. The employee managed to hold on to one of the bags.

Moses broke free.

The Oregon City Police Department called for assistance and received it from the Sheriff's Office as well as officers from West Linn and Gladstone.

Sergeant Don Boone from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and his canine partner, Spencer, found Moses hiding in some thick brush up a steep embankment by the Oregon City Public Works Building.

In addition to finding Moses, police say that Spencer also found the other money bag and other evidence.
