The City of Oregon City has received the Silver Safety Award from CityCounty Insurance Services (CIS) and the League of Oregon Cities in recognition of the City’s low injury rate in the previous fiscal year.
Cities are recognized based on the number of time-loss injuries the city has, and their duration, compared to the number of hours worked in a year.

Maintaining a safe workplace results in fewer insurance claims, which in turn keeps costs down and helps the City of Oregon City operate efficiently. The Silver Safety Award represents tangible savings for Oregon City taxpayers, and it represents a culture of workplace safety among City employees.
“Our employees should be proud,” said Human Resources Director, Patrick Foiles, who runs the City’s workplace safety program. “It takes a commitment to safety and conscious effort to establish a successful culture of safety.”
