Police Detonate Suspicious Device In Downtown Oregon City
Police were notified of the device around 10 a.m. Downtown roads and businesses were closed for several hours while bomb units investigated.

OREGON CITY, OR — Police on Thursday detonated what they called "a suspicious device" found in a parked car in downtown Oregon City. For several hour prior to explosion that rattled the downtown area, police had closed off multiple city streets.
OC Police located a suspicious device in downtown OC. PD has shut down Main St from 10th to 12th. EDU is onscene.

Around 10 a.m., officers reportedly located the parked car on 11th street that had been identified as containing the suspicious device, police said.
The Metro Explosive Disposal Unit investigated while the Oregon City Transit Center and Clackamas County Community Corrections facility were shutdown and other businesses in the are were evacuated.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the device was detonated, police said, and by 3 p.m. much of downtown had been reopened.

Police reportedly identified a local resident as the owner of the vehicle but did not indicate that individual was a suspect.
