Shop With A Cop: Clackamas Law Enforcement Turns Out in Force for Kids
Officers and deputies from nearly a dozen departments turn out.
The holiday spirit was in full swing at the Clackamas Wal-Mart on Southeast 82nd Avenue in Happy Valley as officers from police departments all over Clackamas County turned out for the 10th annual shop with a cop event.
It was a happy day for 136 kids from all over Clackamas County. The kids - from low income families - all had had some contact with the law enforcement. The kids were presented with $100 gift cards.
The money for the gift cards was raised by the Clackamas County Police Officer Benevolent Foundation, which organizes the annual event.

Wal-Mart wrapped all the gifts for the kids, supplying gift-wrap, ribbon and tags.
Officers say that the event provides an opportunity for police and kids to get to know one another. They say that many kids leave the end having had their feelings about police are often changed for the better.
