Special Education Teacher Arrested on Drug Charges

Brynne Fletcher, who has been teaching at Alder Creek Middle School, is charged with possesion of heroin and methamphetamine.

A special education teacher at Alder Creek Middle School is under arrest, charged with possession of heroin and methamphetamine. Bryce Marie Fletcher was arrested Tuesday morning at the school.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says that the 33-year-old teacher - who lives in Portland - was seen by a school official acting "strangely, repeatedly traveling back and forth between the school and her vehicle in the parking lot."

The school official called the sheriff's office after seeing what appeared to be drug paraphernalia in her car.

The North Clackamas School District says that Fletcher had recently submitted her resignation effective at the end of the school year. Given the arrest, she has been placed on administrative leave.

Fletcher was hired as an instructional assistant in 2012 and became a learning specialist at Alder in 2014. The district said that before she was hired, she was fingerprinted and subject to a background check - neither of which turned up any criminal record.
