Special Election Results From Clackamas County
School districts across the region some some changes after the elections Tuesday. This is a round-up of some of those changes.

Special elections in Clackamas County, Oregon:
Milwaukie β
Interim City Councilor Shane Abma was officially elected May 16. Abma was selected in January as the interim councilor to replace Karin Power, who was elected to the state legislature in November 2016.

"Shane has a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience that he brings to City Council, along with a unique perspective," said Mayor Mark Gamba. "He's going to fit in well with our new Council dynamic and we're excited to begin working together to get key projects and priorities moving forward."

Most recently, Councilor Abma served as the Chair of Milwaukie's Planning Commission and volunteered for the Milwaukie Sunday Farmers Market. Professionally, he works as the Senior Assistant Attorney for Metro Regional Government, and has also functioned as the City Attorney for several Portland-area jurisdictions, including Happy Valley, Hillsboro, Gladstone, Silverton and Sherwood. Councilor Abma has also worked as an attorney and mediator for the United States District Court of Oregon, Executive Director of Portland Clean & Safe District, and a junior high school math and social studies teacher.
Clackamas Community College β
Running unopposed for the college's Board of Education, Rob Wheeler was elected to replace Jean Bidstrup as the representative of Zone 2; Dave Hunt and Jane Reid were re-elected to zones 3 and 6, respectively (both incumbent candidates also ran unchallenged); and Irene Konev came out ahead of her opponent Michael D. McNichols to represent Zone 7 β a four-year term. Konev will replace Richard Oathes, who'd held the position since 2007.
Clackamas Education Service District β
Running unopposed, CESD Board members Jon Eyman, Nadene Duffield, John Thomas, and Greg McKenzie were all re-elected to represent their respective zones.
Canby School District β
In the race for positions on the district's school board, three incumbents were re-elected (two ran unopposed) and one new face will join the team.
Tom Scott (Zone 2) and Mike Zagyva (Zone 4) were re-elected without a challenge, and Angi Dilkes Perry will retain her position representing Zone 7 after beating out opponent Jessica Hala. Coming new to the board is Sara Magenheimer, who will represent Zone 3 after taking 57 percent of the votes to defeat Travis Soles.
Colton School District β
Running unopposed, school board members Sheryl Irving and Tim Behrens were re-elected Tuesday, and Brad Kuhn was elected to replace Board Chair Randy Johnson. Johnson did not run for re-election.
Estacada School District β
Two incumbents remain on the Estacada school board following Tuesday's election: Jeromy Adamson, who ran unopposed for Zone 2; and Joe Behrman, who narrowly defeated Angie Nelson to remain the Zone 5 representative. Councilor Rick Mudrow (Zone 4) also ran for re-election, but he and fellow challenger Jason Gates were defeated by newcomer Rochelle Shibahara.
Running unopposed for Zone 1, Lisa Alves was elected to replace John Miller.
Gladstone School District β
School board members Nicole Vera-Vera Couzens and Jay Schmidt ran unopposed and were re-elected to represent zones 1 and 2, respectively. Board members Rod Cole (Zone 6) and Bruce Wadsworth (Zone 7) did not run for re-election and will be replaced by Greg Lind and Tracey Grant. Lind beat Steve Stewart for Zone 6 and Grant defeated Amy Lowry for Zone 7.
Gresham-Barlow School District β
With schools in Damascus and Boring, half of the Gresham-Barlow School District falls into Clackamas County (thus its inclusion on this list).
Running unopposed, Matthew O'Connell (Position 3), Carla Piluso (Position 4), and Sharon Garner (Position 6) were each re-elected. Replacing Position 5 representative Kent Zook, who did not run for re-election, Jason Dugan defeated opponents Blake Petersen and Danielle Currey.
Molalla River School District β
Three school board incumbents were re-elected without opposition: Calvin Nunn, Position 2; Mark Lucht, Position 3; and Craig Loughridge, Position 5. Replacing Position 6 representative Liz Cruthers, Jennifer Satter defeated her opponent Leonard Sano.
North Clackamas School District β
District board members M. Tory McVay (Position 4) and Mitzi Bauer (Position 6) were re-elected, with McVay beating out his opponent Jill Jackson. Replacing Director Vivian Scott in Position 5, Kathy Wai defeated Karelia Harding. Scott did not run for re-election.
