IRS Form 4868: Extension For 2016 Tax Deadline

The 2016 income tax deadline was extended from Friday to Monday.

For some people that won't be enough.

Fortunately, the IRS understands.

They have set up a way for you to go online and file a simple form, the Form 4868, and ask for a six-month extension.

The whole thing will take you less than 15 minutes.

Here's the thing: it gives you extra time to fill out your taxes, get all the paperwork done.

You still have to pay your taxes today, April 18 (unless you're in Maine or Massachusetts; then you have until April 19).
