Beaverton Couple Identified as Those in Suicide by Amtrak
Train was headed from Eugene to Portland. Couple stepped in its path just outside of Oregon City.
The two people who were struck and killed Sunday by an Amtrak train just outside of Oregon City have been identified as a couple from Beaverton.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says they were 36-year-old Shaun M. Beaty and 49-year-old Kristine M. Fields.
The medical examiner has ruled their deaths suicides.

They were struck and killed by an Amtrak train headed from Eugene to Portland on Sunday.
It happened about two miles south of Oregon City.

It was the Amtrak Cascades train #506.
The people were dead when emergency crews arrived.
It's not known how many passengers and crew were on the train.
The sheriff's office says that initial interviews indicate the deaths were a suicide.
The Clackamas County Medical Examiner is investigating.
The tracks are owned and operated by the Union Pacific Railroad.
