Clackamas Fire District #1 responded to 13511 SE Barbara Jean Court after receiving multiple calls of a home on fire.
Arriving, they discovered heavy smoke and fire in the garage and back of the house.

They immediately started a search for possible trapped victims - a job complicated by the damage from the fire.

Firefighters soon discovered that the two women who lived there had managed to get out.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
In all, 11 crews with more than 20 firefighters including some units from Gladstone Fire, were able to bring the fire under control within about one hour.
There were no injuries.
