Two-Year-Old Dies After Being Run-Over in Driveway

A two-year-old boy is dead after being run over by a van in the driveway of a family home.

It happened around 8:30 Saturday morning.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says that a a family member with two small children arrived at the home of a relative on S. Kauffman Road near Highway 211.

The family member helped the two children out of the car and was walking to the house, carrying the younger child.

This person thought the two-year-old boy was right behind.

At this time, a family friend driving a van pulled into the driveway next to them.

No one saw that the young boy had darted in front of the van until it was too late.

The boy was struck, run over, and died.

The sheriff's office has ruled the incident "accidental."
