West Linn's City Council sent a letter to the Oregon Legislature on June 18, 2020 to express strong support for police accountability legislation called for by the People of Color Caucus. Legislation includes changes to law enforcement arbitration, the ability to take swift action on misconduct, use of force and investigation of related serious injuries and death.

West Linn is working on a variety of actions to rebuild community trust and ensure we have equitable policing policies that address pervasive racial barriers, but need a strong framework of state laws to address the many changes needed in law enforcement practices.
