A woman from Madras was struck and killed Wednesday night as she crossed Highway 213 (Southeast 82nd) near Clackamas Town Center.
Vernita Adams was crossing the highway around 11:00 p.m. when she was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tahoe, 52-year-old William Jones of Portland, was not injured. He stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
