$10,000 Reward For 'Double Hat Bandit': FBI

The Double Hat Bandit is suspected of at least 13 bank robberies in five states since December 2016. He is considered armed and dangerous.

PORTLAND, OR — A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man suspected of at least 13 bank robberies across five states since December 2016. Known among law enforcement agencies as the "Double Hat Bandit," the man is accused of four bank robberies in Oregon alone, including three in the Portland metro area, two of which occurred at the same location in Portland six months apart.

So called due to his penchant for wearing a beanie over a baseball cap during his robberies, the Double Hat Bandit typically hits bank branches located inside grocery stores, according to the FBI, which is also the agency offering the reward. (Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is offering a separate reward of $2,000.)
