19-Year-Old Stabbed On TriMet MAX Train By Co-Worker: Police
James Andrew Luckey allegedly stabbed his teenage victim after both men left work at Columbia Sportswear Tuesday afternoon.

PORTLAND, OR — Police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of stabbing a 19-year-old on a TriMet MAX train in North Portland's Kenton neighborhood.
James Andrew Luckey, 30, was taken to the Multnomah County Jail for second degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. His bail is set $255,000.
TriMet police and Portland Police Bureau North Precinct officers responded to the Denver Avenue Transit Station at 8399 N. Interstate Ave. just after 3:30 p.m. Nov. 14 after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed during a fight.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found a 19-year-old man suffering from what police believed to be a non-life-threatening injury. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, police said.
Luckey was identified as a suspect at that time, but he had remained on the train heading south. Police caught up to him at the Rosa Parks MAX stop at 6598 N. Interstate Ave., about one mile away, and took him into custody.

TriMet's Yellow Line was disrupted temporarily while police investigated.
The victim reportedly told police interviewers that while he doesn't know Luckey personally, both men are employed at Columbia Sportswear and that the incident occurred after they had left work.
Luckey, formerly of Arizona, has lived in the Portland metro area for the past five years, he said. He told interviewers he was diagnosed with a bipolar disorder as recently as two years ago, though he does not take any medication or receive mental health treatment.
Luckey has no prior criminal record in Oregon.
