2 Men Injured In Early Morning Robbery, Police Say

One man was shot while the other was assaulted after inviting three other individuals over for a 'business transaction,' police said.

PORTLAND, OR — Two men were injured early Tuesday during a home robbery in southeast Portland, near Powell Butte, according to Portland police.

Officers were called to a reported shooting at an apartment in the 12200-block of Southeast Ramona Street around 12:45 a.m. Nov. 28, Portland Police Bureau spokesman Sgt. Christopher Burley said in a statement. When officers arrived, they found two injured men: one of them had been shot, the other was assaulted — though Burley declined to specify in what way.

The man who'd been shot sustained a serious but non-life-threatening wound and was treated at the scene before he was taken to hospital by ambulance. His current status is unknown. The man who'd been assaulted did not take an ambulance but told officers he would seek medical care later.

The men told investigators they'd invited three other men to their apartment to conduct a "business transaction," Burley said. (Burley told Patch in an email that he could not specify what kind of transaction it was.) When the three suspects arrived, they reportedly assaulted and shot the two men.

Burley said it appears all five men knew each other, and he further noted the suspects were said to be black. He did not specify the ethnicity of the victims.
