Alaska Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at PDX

No one injured. Plane had pressure problems

An Alaska Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Portland International Airport on Wednesday morning.

Alaska Airlines Flight 644 lost pressurization 40 minutes into flight, Spokeswoman Bobbi Egan tells Patch.

The plane had left Portland at 9:18 and was headed to Phoenix.

Immediately after the loss of pressurization, the pilots brought the plane to 10,000 feet, where it can fly safely while unpressurized and then returned to Portland.

It landed safely at 11 a.m..

The plane, a 737-400, will be taken out of service while technicians try to figure out what caused the loss in pressurization.

There were 144 passengers and five crew members on board.

There were no injuries.
