'Dead Media Video Rentals' is a new movie-themed haunted house by a Portland artist (kptv.com) β A new free haunted attraction, "Dead Media Video Rentals," is now open in Northeast Portland at 707 NE Fremont Street, running Wednesdays through Sundays through Nov. 1. Created by local artist Mike Bennett, the movie-themed walkthrough features 26 classic-style monsters and is billed as family-friendly but still spooky, with donations welcomed but no admission charge.

4. 'Very healing': More than 1,000 attend walk for suicide prevention in Portland (koin.com) β More than 1,000 people gathered in North Portland on Saturday for the Out of the Darkness Community Walk, focused on suicide prevention and remembrance. Hosted at Daimler Truck's headquarters, the event brought together loss survivors, mental health advocates, first responders, and families to share stories, honor loved ones, and encourage more open conversations with children about mental health and social media.

Portland Pride Plaza reopens with rainbow mural, drag show (oregonlive.com) β Pride Plaza at SW 12th and Harvey Milk Street has officially celebrated its grand reopening, with new rainbow murals, flags, and colorful seating for Portlanders to enjoy. The upgraded space hosted LGBTQ+ vendors, DJs, and drag performances, and now offers a brighter outdoor gathering spot for visitors to nearby businesses like Hal's Cafe, Jake's, and the new gay bar CAMP.
