Back to School: Portland Public Schools Delays Roosevelt Reopening
District gives students one more day. Says delay is to give teachers more time to get classrooms set up.
An extra day of summer vacation for the students at Roosevelt High School in Portland. The district announced over the weekend that while everyone else goes back on Monday, the students at Roosevelt won't be back until Tuesday.
The district has been renovating the school all summer.

"The facilities look beautiful and are ready for our students. We want to provide our teachers with an additional day to make final touches to their classrooms."
While the district says the delay is to give teachers more time to get their classrooms set, some parents have questioned whether the school will be safe enough for students - and staff - on Tuesday.
