Best Places to Spend Cinco De Mayo in Portland

Enjoy margaritas, nachos, and have a fiesta of a time at one of these Portland places Thursday.

Looking for a place to celebrate May 5 this year? Patch has a list of places more fun than a mariachi band to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. If your favorite spot did not make the list, comment below with where you will be celebrating.

Nuestra Cocina- 2135 SE Division St

Yelp reviewer Melissa B. said “Wow, this place is ridiculously delicious. I have finally found my long lost love of Mexican food again. The good sized portions were all beautifully presented, but more importantly, so flippin' good. I don't understand why I waited so long to eat here. The flavors of our entrees were both familiar and somewhat unique...please just come and eat here. Also, any of the cocktails are amazing. Just drink all of them.”

La Cocina Restaurant- 3939 NE Martin Luther King Blvd

Robin P. said “Refreshingly good mexican food, authentic, flavorful. Great relleno, carnitas, pastor, fresh guacamole and fresh squeezed margaritas. Service is above and beyond, heard the owner on a Sunday morning to go across the way to get the customer a latte since they don't have an espresso machine. Love to support a place like this.”

Torta-Landia- 4144 60th Ave

Sunny H. said “These people are wizards and I will happily consume their witchcraft as often as possible. The margaritas are incredible, too, and they have a terrific selection of drinks to choose from. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and easily becomes a place you can hang out on a sunny afternoon.”

Mi Mero Mole- 5026 SE Division St

Erik L. said “One of my favorite casual eats joints here and Portland, and luckily it's pretty close to my house. Food here is smokey, earthy, and filling. Doesn't really matter what you get, can't go wrong but I definitely recommend the lamb in mole (borrego ahumado), it's lamby, smokey, and oh so rich. The vegetarian fillings are equally as delicious.”

The Goose- 2725 SE Ankeny St

Nicole B. said “The Goose is a New Mexican fusion joint implementing green chiles in their menu yet adding their own fresh interpretation of SouthWestern cuisine. The Goose meddles flavors of fresh ingredients bursting with richness. Happy Hour margaritas on the patio is something you need to do this summer.”
