Body of Missing Vancouver, WA Woman Found Rocky Pointe Marina

Area residents call 911 after seeing body in the water.

PORTLAND, OR — A body found Saturday afternoon in the water at Rocky Pointe Marina in the Multnomah Channel has been identified as that of a 20-year-old Vancouver, Washington woman who had been reported missing. Shortly after noon on Saturday, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office River Patrol deputies responded to a report a resident had seen a body in the water

MCSO River Patrol units arrived in the area a short time later and recovered the body of a deceased adult female from the water The deceased was identified as 20 year old Leticia E. Montez of Vancouver, Washington. Montez was the subject of a Portland Police Bureau missing person case.

The county medical examiner's office said Montez died of asphyxiation by drowning. Deputies said she had been reported missing to Portland police.
