Body Recovered from Columbia River Identified

Medical examiner says man drowned.

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner has identified a dead man pulled from the Columbia River over the weekend.

He was 38-year-old Wledu Germane Misgna.

He had drowned.

Misgna was the only one in his car when it crashed near 159th and Marine Drive last month.

His car went into the Columbia.

Rescuers tried to get him out of the car but his body floated through an open window.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's office recovered his body from the Columbia River early Saturday morning.

Around 7:30, deputies with the office's river patrol responded to a body floating in the river not far from 158th and Marine Drive.

The body was brought to the river patrol's dock at 4325 Marine Drive.
