Bombay Cricket Club Closing After 21 Years
Long considered one of the best Indian restaurants in the area.

After 21 years, Bombay Cricket Club on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard is getting ready to close its doors. Owners Karim and Sherri Ammad announced on their Facebook page that they will be serving their last mango margaritas on August 31st.
The couple has decided to retire.
The news, which was posted last week, has triggered messages for congratulations and despair.

"I am so bummed but so happy for your future," wrote one person.
"I may just die!" wrote another. "So happy for you. So sad for myself!!!"

"Nooooo!" another person wrote. "I completely understand but where will I got for the best Indian food?"
The Ammads started the restaurant in 1995 after both having in Portland area restaurants for several years. With signature cocktails like the mango margarita and dishes they created like Lamb Shahi, they built a loyal following.
