Bridge Closure Required During Race For The Cure Sunday

The Northside sidewalk on Hawthorne Bridge will close for several hours Sunday morning during the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

PORTLAND, OR — The annual Race for the Cure event in Portland this Sunday will force Multnomah County to temporarily close the Northside sidewalk along Hawthorne Bridge for several hours in the morning. The south sidewalk will remain open.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure begins at 9 a.m. Sept. 16 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 98 S.W. Naito Pkwy. The Hawthorne Bridge sidewalk, however, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The race village area will reportedly open at 7 a.m. The drawbridge will remain closed to river traffic from 7 a.m. to noon.
