Burnside Bridge Maintenance to Close Interstate-5, County Officials say
The closures will begin April 14 and conclude May 15, officials said.

PORTLAND, OR – Interstate-5 will experience closures every weekend beginning April 14 while construction crews repair the degraded underside of Burnside Bridge, according to Multnomah County transportation officials.
People traveling through the area between the Broadway Bridge and Marquam Bridge are encouraged to plan their detoured routes accordingly.
As the first of four full weekend closures on I-5 from the Marquam Bridge to Northeast Broadway Street, county crews will close all I-5 southbound lanes and one northbound lane from 10 p.m. April 14 to 4:30 a.m. April 17.

During the closures, officials said, detours will reroute southbound commuters to Interstate-405. Drivers coming from Washington are encouraged to use Interstate-205 to get through the metro area.
