Call Your Mom: 5 Things to do in the Region This Mother's Day Weekend
While Sunday brunches are certainly on the menu, there are also Saturday Farmers Markets, parades, and a fundraiser plant sale to enjoy.

1. GRESHAM — Local gardeners and the representatives of the Salvation Army will hold the26th Annual Plant Sale to help fund the Salvation Army’s work on the eastside of Multnomah County from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the East Hill Church, 701 N. Main Ave. in Gresham. Help support the Salvation Army’s social service programs and pick up something new for your garden at the same time.
2. OREGON CITY — While many farmers markets in the Portland metro region kicked into gear last week, this weekend’s farmers markets are all about celebrating Mother’s Day. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the Oregon City Farmers Market, located at 2051 Kaen Rd., families and individuals can enjoy products from local growers, farmers, ranchers, bakers, artisan food businesses , wineries, distilleries, cideries, breweries, and crafters. Live music and kids activities are also available.
3. HILLSBORO — In conjunction with its Saturday Farmers Market, downtown Hillsboro will also host the Proud to be HSD Festival from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 13. Vendor booths, food, Hillsboro School District student performances, and an art walk and scavenger hunt are all on the list of events and activities available.

4. PORTLAND — As part of BabyFest Northwest, Pint-Sized Productions is hosting a Mary Poppins Party for parents with young kids from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Sing songs, play games, win prizes, and make Mother’s Day cards with the “practically perfect nanny” on May 13.
5. PORTLAND — The 2017 St. Johns Bizarre will kickoff the city’s street fair season on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at North Lombard Street and North Philadelphia Avenue in Portland. Local bands covering a wide range of musical styles, more than 100 craft vendors and artists, food, beverages, and the annual St. Johns Parade will be on hand.
