Coast Guard Resumes Search for Missing Plane

Plane took off from Vancouver, reported missing by Astoria

The Coast Guard Thursday morning resumed its search for a plane that went missing off the coast of Astoria Wednesday night.

The plane, which had taken off from Pearson Field in Vancouver, was reported missing around 8:30PM.

The Columbian reports that former Vancouver City Commissioner John McKibbin and a woman were last seen at the Airfield Wednesday afternoon headed for the mouth of the Columbia near Astoria.

The search was suspended around 45 minutes later due to bad visibility.

There were two people aboard the plane.

KOIN reports that there were reports that the plane had crashed near Pier 39.
