Cyclist Punched Woman In Face In Bias Crime: Reports

Police say the victim was walking with friends on Northwest Glisan Street​ in Old Town when she was attacked by a man on a bike.

PORTLAND, OR — A man was arrested and charged with assaulting a woman after making comments about her sexual orientation, police say. Reports say Timothy Walsh, 38, is suspected of attacking a woman Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old victim told police, who responded around 8:15 p.m., that she was walking with friends on the 400 block of Northwest Glisan Street in Old Town when Walsh rode his bike by. Walsh is alleged to have made comments about a man in women's clothing and the victim's sexual orientation, then punched her in the face several times.

The victim didn't need medical treatment.

Then, Walsh rode away on his bike towards the Greyhound Bus Station, police say. He was later found and arrested without incident, WRAL reported police as saying.

Walsh was booked at the Multnomah County Jail for fourth degree assault, second degree intimidation and a parole violation, WRAL reports.
