Death At Motel 6 Sparks Investigation, Portland Police Say

(UPDATE) Portland police are responding to Southeast 52nd Avenue and Southeast Francis Street. The public is advised to avoid the area.

PORTLAND, OR – Portland police announced at 2:30 p.m. Friday that the bureau was mobilizing its Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) to the area of Southeast 52nd Avenue and Southeast Francis Street in response to reports that a person of interest possibly connected to a death investigation at the Motel 6 may be present.

Friday morning Portland detectives began a death investigation after a body was found in a room at a southeast Portland Motel 6.

The motel, located at 3104 S.E. Powell Blvd., was temporarily closed due to the investigation, officials said.

There is no known threat to residents in the surrounding neighborhoods, police said.
