It was an unusual trial as most cases such as Raiford's are settled with a ticket and paying a fine.

But Raiford insisted on a trial.
The incident stems from what Raiford called a celebration and rally in honor of Michael Brown who had been killed by police in Missouri.

While traffic can be seen stopping in a video posted on YouTube, Raiford insisted that she did not intend to block traffic and did not hear warnings from police that she needed to move.
