Eagle Creek Fire: Evacuation Levels Altered, Added On Fire's Eastside

The Hood River Sheriff's Office extended a Level 2 area and added a new area to Level 1 alerts as the Eagle Creek Fire moves eastward.

HOOD RIVER, OR — The Hood River County Sheriff's Office on Friday altered evacuation levels in two areas on the East and Southeast sides of the Eagle Creek Fire. The first is a new Level 1 alert, while the other extends a previously-issued Level 2 alert.

(Level 1: Prepare for the possibility of evacuation. Level 2: Be ready to evacuate at a moment's notice.)

The new Level 1 alert is for an area around the city of Dee. The border of the new Level 1 alert begins south of Dee along Collins Road and moves Northeast all the way to Interstate-84.

A Level 2 alert was extended east from the Northeast half of Cascade Locks to Viento State Park along the I-84 corridor. Officials said this includes the In-Lieu site and the whole area of Wyeth.

No structures are currently under immediate threat of fire, officials said.
