Early Morning Chase Leads to Arrest
Portland Police say that a man who fled a traffic stop is under arrest.

Portland Police arrested 31-year-old Jonathan Delano Swenson after he led them on early morning chase through Portland, Milwaukie, and other parts of Clackamas County.
It started just before 5:00 on Monday morning when officers from the East Precinct tried to stop Swenson as he drove eastbound in the westbound lanes of Southeast Stark Street near 92nd Avenue.
Police say that Swenson swerved around the officer and headed south on I-205 with the officer in pursuit,

Swenson left the highway at Southeast Johnson Creek Boulevard and continued to elude officers until spike strips were deployed in front of the pursuit, flattening two tires on his car. At Highway 224 and Southeast Johnson Road, officers successfully use a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT maneuver) to spin the vehicle and end the pursuit.
Three occupants in the vehicle were initially detained. Two passengers were released at the scene and the driver was arrested.

Swenson is being held on a parole violation and is charged with reckless driving and attempto elude by vehicle.
