Elected Oregon Republicans Want To Take Away Your Health Care

Trump orders DOJ to destroy the ACA and with it protection for preexisting medical conditions. Oregon Republicans still support Trump.

ELECTED OREGON REPUBLICANS WANT TO TAKE AWAY YOUR HEALTH CARE

Every single one of Oregon’s elected Republicans (*1) want to keep Donald Trump in office so that he can take away health insurance from 20 million Americans (*2), including 372,000 Oregonians (*3). These elected Oregon Republicans are as morally bankrupt and cruel as their beloved leader, Donald Trump.

These elected Oregon Republicans have always believed the bedrock Republican orthodoxy that health care should only be available to those who can afford it in the private marketplace and not a right of American citizenship guaranteed by our government. They oppose the Affordable Care Act which protects citizens who have pre-existing medical conditions over which they have no control.

For nine years these elected Oregon Republicans have been part of a Republican fantasy claim to replace the Affordable Care Act with something better. That plan has never existed and never will.

If Donald Trump came to Oregon these elected Oregon Republicans would all be on stage with him wearing their red MAGA hats. They are the Oregon leaders of Trump’s base who happily wallow in the meanness of Trump’s sty of lies.

Remember the days before the Affordable Care Act when private insurance companies discriminated against those of us Oregonians with pre-existing conditions and would constantly lower benefits and raise rates to painful and eventually unaffordable limits or deny coverage at any cost. Look at your family and friends. How would you and they cope if those days returned. (*4) That’s what all of Oregon’s elected Republicans want to do to you and your loved ones. If this prospect frightens you, it should.

Republicans are the enemy of health care in America and Oregon.

DON’T FORGET IT.

On the eve of last year’s midterm elections, the public trusted Democrats over Republicans to protect Americans with pre-existing conditions by 58 percent to 26 percent. A margin this big tells us that even Trump supporters knew their man was lying on this issue.

In 2018, Americans Borrowed $88 Billion to Pay Health Expenses Not Covered by Insurance

April 2, 2019 By Matt Stieb

A new survey from Gallup shows that Americans borrowed a staggering $88 billion in 2018 to pay for healthcare costs that were not covered by their insurance plans.

Two in three patients cannot pay off their entire hospital bill, and out-of-pocket spending for people with employer-provided health insurance has jumped 50 percent since 2010.

According to a poll from October 28, 70 percent of Americans – and 52 percent of Republicans – would “support providing Medicare to every American.”
