Enjoy The Sun: 5 Things To Do Across The Region This Weekend

The Wilsonville arts festival, law enforcement K9 trials, and Tualatin Blender Dash are just a few of the events taking place this weekend.

WILSONVILLE —

On Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4, the City of Wilsonville will host its annual Festival of Arts at the city's Town Center Park, 29600 Park Place. Inviting 50 juried artists and more than 300 local students to submit works, the city will showcase local talent through a West Linn-Wilsonville School District Art Exhibit and an art market. Additionally, visitors can enjoy trolley-led art tours, live music and dance performances, as well as get their hands dirty with interactive crafts and art activities. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The 12th annual Law Enforcement K9 Trials and Safety Fair will be held Saturday in Hillsboro at the Gordon Faber Recreational Complex, 4450 N.W. 229th Ave. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors will get to see police K9s in action as they perform timed searches and more, as well as learn what it takes for law enforcement officials to keep our cities safe. The event is free for all ages, though officials ask that attendees leave their pets at home.

CLACKAMAS —

Clackamas Fire District #1 — in collaboration with American Medical Response (AMR), Cascade Training, and the Clackamas Town Center — will host free community CPR demonstrations and trainings from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in front of the Macy's at the Clackamas Town Center, 12100 S.E. 82nd Ave. In conjunction with National CPR and AED Awareness Week, which runs from June 1 to June 7, fire district officials hope to increase the number of Clackamas County residents who can effectively perform CPR in an emergency — which also increases the likelihood of survival for someone suffering a cardiac arrest.

TUALATIN —

While the event's registration is full, anyone interested in watching the Tualatin Blender Dash (pictured above) is encouraged to be at Tualatin Community Park, 8515 SW. Tualatin Rd., at 8 a.m. on Saturday. There, 650 kids between six and 15 years old will run through color, foam, mud, obstacles, and zombies in an event that promotes non-competitive physical fun.
