Erin Brockovich Coming to Portland

Famed environmental activist Erin Brockovich will be in Portland Saturday.

She is the keynote speaker at the Community Air Forum sponsored by the Eastside Portland Air Coalition.

The event comes on the heels of weeks of controversy over the emission of heavy metals by two small glass manufacturers in different parts of town.

The emissions were disclosed in February by the state's Department of Environmental Quality after they had known for months.

Brockovich, who will be joined by environmental experts and doctors, will discuss how to approach state officials about strengthening laws and protections.

The event is at Revolution Hall at 1300 Stark Street and goes from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Brockovich speaks at 4 p.m.
