Family of Killed Bicyclist Sues City, State Over Road Design
Family of Martin Greenough says road design puts cyclists at risk.

Martin Greenough was bicycling home on December 12, 2015.
It was 8:30 at night and Greenough was traveling on North Lombard as it passes under the Northeast 42nd overpass.
He never made it home.

He was struck from behind by a Crown Victoria driven by Kenneth Britt Smith.
On Wednesday, Greenough's family sued Smith, Portland, and Oregon in Multnomah County Court, charging that Greenough didn't have to die.

Smith, who has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to go on trial next week, had allegedly been smoking marijuana.
The city and state are accused of not doing enough to protect cyclists on the road - there is no bike lane, among other problems - despite knowing there were risks.
