Portland Police say that a 47-year-old man was killed in early morning crash Wednesday on Swan Island in North Portland. The man was speeding south on North Basin Avenue when he crashed into a truck. The truck driver, a 49-year-old man, stayed on scene and cooperated with police, they say. He did not show any signs of impairment. The crash happened around 5:30 in the morning just north of Emerson Street. The road was closed for several hours, reopening around 10:00 a.m.. Police have not released the name of either driver.
