Fighter Jets in the Oregon Sky: We're Not Under Attack - It's Traning
The Oregon Air National Guard will be doing training missions for the next three nights.
Don't worry, Oregon. We are not under attack. For the next three nights, the Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Fighter Wing will be conducting routine F-15 night training missions.
The evenings of October 4, 5, and 6, the wing's "Citizen-Airmen pilots" will be in the air over Portland and the surrounding area but each mission will be done by 10:30 at night.
The Air National Guard says that the night training, which happens almost monthly, is essential for pilots to stay current with Air Force requirements.
