Flood Causes Noodle Shop to Close

Tam, in Sellwood, had only been open for two months.

Tam, the popular wonton noodle shop in Sellwood that opened earlier this year, is closed.

A flood last week had left them thinking they would be reopen without much fuss but further examination made the owners realize it would not happen.

Yesterday morning we closed because our kitchen flooded. At first, we were optimistic about getting back up by today but...

The restaurant was owned by Ro Tam and her brother, Simon, the front man for the band, The Slants.

"This won't be the last you see of our wonton shop, we already have some exciting ideas in the works!" they wrote on Facebook.

The Oregonian's Michael Russell was the first to report the closure.
