Former Trail Blazer Brandon Roy Shot in Southern California
Roy is now reportedly recovering from a leg wound in Washington where he coaches basketball at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle.

PORTLAND, OR – Former Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy was among three people shot in the Los Angeles suburb of Compton, Calif., Saturday night, according to multiple news outlets reporting from the area.
Roy was reportedly hit in the leg while shielding children in front of a home he was visiting –– which is reportedly Roy's grandmother's home. The extent of the injuries to the two other victims in unknown. The shooting is being reported as a random act of violence with no known motive at this time, though police are reportedly investigating.
The Portland Trail Blazers team issued an official statement Wednesday morning:

"Like many others, we're just learning of the injury suffered by former Trail Blazers player Brandon Roy in a shooting over the weekend in California. According to those reports, Brandon was wounded as a bystander, but is expected to recover. Our thoughts are prayers are with Brandon and his family during this time."
Nicknamed "The Natural" and still a fan favorite, Roy played five seasons for the Trail Blazers from 2006-2011. He ended his Portland career having averaged 19.0 points in 321 games. Roy is currently the head basketball coach at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle.
Roy has reportedly returned to Washington and is receiving treatment.
