Fourth Arrest in 2014 Murder of Pregnant Woman

A fourth arrest in the 2014 murder of a pregnant woman in Southeast Portland.

Kelani Brown was arrested Friday morning and charged with murder in connection with the killing of 21-year-old Ervaeua Herring in August 2014.

Police had responded to the Eastwood Viullage Apartments for a call of a shooting.

There they found Herring shot dead.

She was pregnant at the time.

Investigators determined that several suspects had been firing at the apartment. They believed it was gang-related.

Homicide detectives working with detectives from the Gang Enforcement Team eventually made three arrests - 21-year-old Demetruis Ray Brown, 22-year-old DeAnthony Simmons and 23-year-old Geontae Brachaurd Jones.

Brown is the fourth arrest and will appear in court on Monday.

Portland Police say the investigation continues and they believe there will be more arrests.
