Residents of SE 45th Avenue between Hawthorne and Madison Streets have been forced from their homes by a gas leak.
It was caused by a constrictor crew working on the street.
Portland Fire & Rescue says that the crew hit a sidewalk line.

They say it might be "an extended operation" and traffic is shut down on Hawthorne at 45th.
