Governor Brown to Visit Oregon City Thursday

Governor Kate Brown will visit Oregon City Thursday in an effort, her office says, to highlight "the need to make critical transportation investments to reduce congestion and help improve economic vitality for the state."

Brown will start with a visit to the Benchmade Knife Company, which ships all over the world and has seen its workforce grow 30 percent over the past few years.

She will then head to the George Abernathy Bridge, which carries I205 over the Willamette from Oregon City to West Linn.

The Oregon Department of Transportation calls it one of the most critical corridors in Oregon and also one of the worse congestion bottlenecks.
