Hannah the Pet Society Undergoing Big Change Says Report
The Oregonian says the organization will stop placing pets.

Hannah the Pet Society, the pet-leasing company that is subject of an investigation by the Oregon Department of Justice, has stopped its practice of making pets available for adoption.
That's according to a report in The Oregonian, which has reported extensively on the company's problems.
Instead of selling pets, Hannah had made a practice of leasing pets. They would place pets in the homes of people who would pay a monthly fee.

The paper reported on the problems and criticisms facing the society earlier this year, detailing complaints about dogs being euthanized and pets not receiving adequate care.
The company's chief executive tells the paper that the decision to change its practices was a business decision and that of their more than 4,500 members they had only lost some 20 members because of the controversy.
