Highest Ranking Portland Schools Official Who Saw Lead Testing Results Steps Down
Tony Magliano has been on paid leave since June.

The chief operating officer of Portland Public Schools, who has been on paid leave since June after a report came out criticizing the district's response to the presence of lead in school buildings, has resigned.
Tony Magliano was the highest ranking district official to see test results indicating there was lead in water that students were drinking. An independent report criticized Magliano's - and the district's handling of the crisis.
