Man Accused of Raping Toddler May Be In Oregon: Police

Juan Hernandez Zuniga may be traveling through Oregon in an effort to get to Mexico, according to police.

Police officials in Washington State say a man suspected of raping a 3-year-old girl at his Washington home in 2015 may be on the lam in Oregon, and headed to Mexico.

According to Othello Police police officials, Juan Hernandez Zuniga was arrested in 2015. After he didn’t show up to a court date last month, a felony warrant was issued for his arrest.

“He is believed to be in California and possibly heading to Mexico,” Othello police said this week. “His route is unknown and there is no vehicle description at this time.”

Assistant Chief David Rehaume told Patch Zuniga has family in Mexico.

Police say they’ve alerted Border Patrol to be on the lookout for the suspected rapist but are also asking the public to keep an eye out for the man.

Zuniga has brown hair and brown eyes. He is about 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds, according to police.

Anyone with information about Zuniga is asked to call the local police department.
