Man Arrested in Clackamas Attempted Murder Probe as He Walks out of Jail in Portland

Long Thanh Vo had been arrested by Portland Police on weapons charges.

When Long Thanh Vo walked out of Multnomah County Jail on Tuesday, he was met by a group of people happy to see him. Detectives from the Milwaukie Police Department were there to arrest him for trying to kill a man on Sunday.

Police say that they arrived at a home on the 2400 block of SE Willard Street and found a 25-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were able to determine that the 31-year-old Vo was their suspect.

As it turns out, Portland Police had arrested Vo less than 12 hours later during a burglary investigation. He is not charged with burglary but police took him into custody on weapons charges after finding two guns in his car.

The Milwaukie detectives took him to Clackamas County Jail where he was booked on charges of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangering, and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance - one for heroin and one for cocaine.

Vo was convicted in 2009 in Multnomah County for delivering heroin.
