It was Murder: Man Found Dead in Church Parking Lot was KIlled

Portland Police say that a 45-year-old man found dead Thursday morning in the parking lot of a church was murdered. Police were called to St. Rita's Catholic Church at 10029 Northeast Prescott Street just before 10:00.

The victim was identified as Sou Chiew Saechao. Police were told that he lived in the neighborhood but frequently spent time - and slept - on the streets.

Homicide detectives and criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division are leading the investigation. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner determined he died from homicidal violence.

No other details have been released.

One person has been detained as part of the investigation but was later released.
