Man Pulled from Columbia by Friends
The sheriff's office had responded to a call for a swimmer in distress.

A man who ran into trouble while swimming in the Columbia River had to be rescued by friends, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.
It happened around 3:35 Saturday afternoon.
They had received a report of a swimmer in distress.

When they arrived the man had been pulled to safety by his friends. He had been swimming in the Columbia by Lemon Island when he ran into trouble,
Once to shore rescuers performed CPR. Emergency personnel then transported him to a local hospital.
